Update on Storm: The church's basement is drying out, now that the power is back on and the sump-pumps are pumping out water. Most of the water is gone with sporadic puddles here and there in the basement and Thrift Shop.
This past Sunday's Lay Advisory Committee's after-church conversation about Membership Assimilation and the Pastor's doctoral project will be rescheduled due to the storm and its aftermath.
The following meetings and activities are happening this week:
Feeding the Homeless Wednesday, March 17 at 3:00 PM
Choir Practice Wednesday, March 17 at 8:00 PM
Choir Practice Sunday, March 21 at 9:00 AM
H&R Block Tax Talk Sunday, March 21 at 11:15 AM

Items and articles for the April issue of the church newsletter are due this week.
We will be receiving our One Great Hour of Sharing offering for the rest of the month. This offering is a special mission offering of our denomination that carries God's message of love and hope to peopl e in more than eighty countries. One hundred percent of all monies collected go directly to provide relief.
Easter plant forms are available. Our cut off date is March 26th. The price per plant is $10. If paying by check, please make checks payable to the Cresskill Congregational Church. Thank you.

Our parish secretary, Terrie Clark, is out of the office this week. The pastor would LOVE some volunteers to help out in the office. If you can work any day, Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, that would be great. The pastor will need special help on Thursday as that day the following Sunday’s Order of Worship is printed and assembled. If you can volunteer, please contact the Pastor at bo@cresskillucc.org or speak with him on Sunday.
Just so you know, the Pastor will be out of the office much of Tuesday in meetings. If you need him, send him an email at bo@cresskillucc.org or call him on his cell phone at 201-679-9514.
Get ready for our Spring Military Bridge which will be held on Friday, April 9 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $5 each and include all-you-can-eat hotdogs, drinks, and desserts and door prizes. Call the church office or Margaret B. at 201-569-5795 to reserve space. Don't miss out!
The AAEC and our congregation have decided upon a date for our combined church Luau. The festivities will occur on Sunday, April 18 at 3:00 PM. The theme of the afternoon will be grass skirts, roasted pig, Hawaiian shirts, and other ideas as of yet to be mentioned. Stay tuned for the details!
Are you in debt? Would you like to get out of it? Would you like help in managing your finances or preparing for retirement? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we offer a 13-week debt management course called Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. The cost is $100 per family and includes books, workbooks, CDs with lessons, and the opportunity to meet weekly to watch a DVD session and group learning. If you are interested in attending, please contact the church office or locate the signup sheet after church. Once we have at least 5-6 families (we have a definite 3 and a possible 4th), we will schedule the course (which has normally met on Thursday nights from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM).
To submit a prayer request, please send an email to Pastor Bo at bo@cresskillucc.org. He'll then put the prayer request on the website. You will find the prayer requests from Sunday worship and submitted prayers by navigating to our Prayers tab to the left of your screen. Simply fill in who you would like for us to pray for.
This Coming Sunday
You are invited to join us for worship on Sunday, March 21, 2010. The Scripture lessons will be Psalm 27:1-6 & Matthew 24:6-14. The title of the sermon will be, "The Fear of Global Calamity."
Following our morning service, you are invited to get acquainted and catch up with old friends during our time of refreshments.
