CHURCH LIFE

We invite you to join us for worship every Sunday morning at 10:00 AM.
As a reminder, the Church school for children and youth will not be meeting for the duration of the summer.  Church school will return on Gathering Sunday in September.

The church office hours are Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  The parish secretary will be in the office Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

The pastor has returned from his vacation and is looking forward to seeing, speaking, and emailing with you, and generally enjoying your company.

As many of you know, the ceiling in the church office collapsed.  We are in the process of receiving bids to replace and fix the ceiling.  In the meantime, Terrie and pastor are working around the mess.  Terrie will be working from home for a few hours thereby limiting her time in the office.  Pastor Bo will be in his office in the afternoons allowing Terrie to work out of it in the mornings.  We ask for your patience as we work around the construction of the office ceiling.  If you need to speak with the pastor in the mornings, please call him at the Parsonage.

Glenn Woertz's sermon preached this past Sunday, July 25 is now available online as a document to read.  Check out our new Sermons Tab (to the left) to find his sermon.  Also available on the tab are podcasts from previous Sundays.

Continuing this week, our parish secretary will be working both from home and at the office due to the ceiling in the church office collapsing.  Repairs are being planned.  If you need to speak with Terrie directly, you may reach her by calling her house.  Her number is printed in the church directory.

If you would like to experiment being a lay leader in Sunday worship, now's your chance.  Look for the signup sheet in the Social Hall for Sundays through September 12.  If you haven't ever read publicly, the pastor would love to show you how fun and easy it is to do.

As a reminder, we are continuing to collect canned and packaged goods for the Cresskill Food Bank, which benefits any Cresskill resident that is in need of assistance.  Also, if you would like to donate your time staffing the food bank, please contact John and Dot Pontician.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email to Pastor Bo at bo@cresskillucc.org.  He'll then put the prayers on the website.  You will find other prayers from Sunday worship and submitted prayers by navigating to our Prayers tab to the left of your screen.  Simply fill in who and what you would like for us to pray for.

THIS COMING SUNDAY

You are invited to join us for worship and communion on Sunday, August 1, 2010.  The Scriptures will be Hosea 11:1-11 and Colossians 3:1-11.  The title of the sermon is, "Only God Can Make Peace like a River."

Following our morning service, you are invited to get acquainted and catch up with new and old friends alike during our Coffee Hour.
